She was the daughter of Lithuanian immigrants and spent her childhood in New Jersey. She later moved to Michigan with her husband and then to Arlington, Virginia before following her grandchildren to Evansville. Frances provided services to the military on the east coast during WWII and later became a seamstress. She loved crocheting infant hats for local hospitals, reading and listening to the Three Tenors, and participated in bowling leagues. Frances enjoyed going out to eat and loved spending time with her 3 grandchildren. She was a woman deep in her Catholic faith and was devoted to her family.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years, Robert J. Kelley (1987); brothers, Gerry, John (Kaye) and Keneth (Madeline) Grygotis; and son, Robbie Kelley.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Enzler (David) of Evansville; grandchildren, Christine Enzler of Marina del Ray, California, Franny Enzler Matsel (Kyle) of Evansville, and David Enzler (Kate) of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Andrew Matsel; sister-in-law, Julie Grygotis of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Kelley of Arlington, Virginia.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Alzheimer’s Unit at Woodlands in Newburgh, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Lisa, her favorite bus driver.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Ted Tempel officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, Virginia. Friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Care Unit at Golden Living Woodlands, or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
