Emma Lee Seifert, 87, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital. Born May 4, 1926, to the late Albert and Frances Schmidt, she was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church.
She graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis and worked for many years at Deaconess Hospital. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She loved her family and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Seifert in 1998, they enjoyed traveling and working together in the flea market business in their retirement years.
Emma is survived by her son and caregiver, Mark Seifert; daughter, Becky Kamp and husband Kerry; grandchildren, Caroline Lee and Kyle; sister, Jane Eberhardt; brothers, Jim Schmidt and Thomas Schmidt and wife Janice of Clinton, TN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Schmidt.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Deaconess Hospital Unit 5500, who went above and beyond with their care.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Randy Anderson, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
