Dorothy Elizabeth Zapp

Dorothy Elizabeth Zapp, 93, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Parkview Care Center. She was born October 2, 1923, in Evansville, IN to the late Ward and Elizabeth (Maienshcein) Zapp.

For 10 years, she served both as recording secretary for United Methodist Women and Santa Claus Campground Trust. Dorothy was a 70 year member of Central UMC where she taught Sunday School. She retired from the Baby Shop as a secretary in 1992, after 48 years of service.

Dorothy is survived by her cousin, Fred C. (Joyce) Maienschein of AZ; children of her lifelong friends (the late Earl and Colleen (Dix) Winternheimer), Jenny (Robin) Redman, Dorothy’s caregiver and god-daughter; the late Dennis (Becky), Ronnie and Rick (Barb) Winternheimer and Cathy (Brad) Meyer.

Funeral services will be help 5:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Alexander West Chapel, with private burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
