Dodie was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 4, 1933 to Ernie and Mary (Lashley) Zimmer. She was a graduate of Central High School. Dodie retired from Deaconess Hospital after 35 years of service in the payroll department. She was the life of the party and enjoyed music and the slot machines. Dodie loved the beach and took many trips to Daytona Beach. She was an avid Cardinals fan. Dodie was one of the first woman in Evansville to be trained on a IBM computer.
Dodie is survived by her son, Randy Schmidt (Martha) of Evansville, IN; step-son, John T. Robertson, Jr. (Beth); step-daughters, Denise Durran and Launie Terrell (Terry); sister, Mary Beth Allen; grandchildren, Leah Peters (Mark), Natalie Rauscher (Zach), Brittany Robertson, Monique Durran, Christopher Terrell, and Amanda Terrell; great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dodie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John T. "Jack" Robertson, Sr. and a brother, Gerald Zimmer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home.
