Doris "Jane" J. Hill

Jane was a dedicated daughter to Classie whom she cared for in her home for 17 years and loving mother to seven children. She loved spending time with her family, helping others, and sharing her love for the Lord. She was a dedicated Deaconess employee for 35 years. Jane took great pride in comforting families in need. She enjoyed sewing, reading, listening to gospel music, and caring for her country.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 33 years, Robert H. Hill; and son, Russell Hill.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Hill (Linda), Deborah Wynn (John L.), Jeannette “Jennie” Hill (Ervin Seaver, Jr.), Rebecca “Becky” Hill-Dawson (Jeffrey), Nancy Hill-Wagner (James), and Amanda Hill-Groves (Joshua); grandchildren, Kristina Bellew, Joshua Hill, John M. Wynn, Brittany Jewell, Robert Shrode, Katlyn Knox, Jessica Filback, Samantha Glover, MJ Dawson, Jason Brewer, Alexandra Jade Wagner, Aurora Wagner, Thacher Groves, Parker Groves, and Emma Groves; and great grandchildren, Xavier Durham, Caine Durham, Sage Durham, Valarie Hill, Cloe Jewell, Xavier Jewell, Ethan Wynn, Max Wynn, Tyler Galleher, Aiden Carnett, Gabriella Shrode, Jamison Shrode, Kaj Shrode, Sebastian Shrode, Gracie, Bella, Jackson, and Bradley Knox, Summer Filback, Augustus Filback, Austin Boone, and Ostara Wagner.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 18, 2023 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd. Evansville, IN 47711, officiated by John Wynn, with a graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m. CST at Birdseye Cemetery, 400 Elm St. Birdseye, IN 47513. Friends and family may visit from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday December 17, 2023 and from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday December 18, 2023 at the funeral home.
