Dolores was born April 12, 1924 and attended Reitz High School. She retired from Sears. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and helping others. Dolores’ greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Orval Sanders; parents, Thomas and Mollie Hammer; brothers, Orvil, Thomas, and Ralph Hammer; and sister, Joan Tutsie.
Dolores is survived by her children and their spouses, James (Joyce) Sanders, Sandra (Herb) Durham, and Robert (Tina) Sanders; granddaughters, Suzy (Brad) Whitecotton, Sara and Laura Sanders; great-grandchildren, Lily Whitecotton and great-grandson, Harrison Whitecotton.
The family wishes to send special thanks to Dr. Anthony Stephens, Dr. Chip Walsh and all of the nurses and caregivers of VNA Plus Hospice. The family would also like to thank all of the friends and neighbors who helped and prayed for Dolores during these difficult times.
Services will be 10:00AM Monday, May 20, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Rev. Tony Payne with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit, Sunday, May 19, 2013, from 2:00PM until 6:00PM and Monday from 9:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
