She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Schmett, in 2001.
Debra was of the Pentecostal faith and she rejoiced in being reunited in Heaven with her son after 13 years of battling multiple physical illnesses. She spent her quality time enjoying her children, her family and her faith in God, which kept her strong during her time of need. She enjoyed sharing simple things in life. Her hobbies were yard-selling and shopping and she was an avid quilter. During the latter part of her life she became an example that life here on earth is just a moment and forgiveness and faith are the footprints that we leave here on earth.
She is survived by her husband, Randolph Scott; daughters, Marilyn Schmett, Rebecca (Rick) Montgomery, both of Evansville, Jenny (David) York of Illinois and Nancy (Kevin) Foley of Carmi, IL; nine grandchildren; parents, Willie and Bobbie Wright of Cynthiana; sisters, Anna Martin of Cynthiana and Peggy Gaines of Evansville; and brother, Rodney Wright of Cynthiana.
Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Brother James Mullins and Brother Steve Sutton, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
