David Edwin Trout, 73, passed away on November 14, 2021 at his home in Chesterfield, Missouri. Born in Mattoon, Illinois, he was the son of Dale and Dorothy Trout. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1972 and went on to be a banker in wealth management in Evansville, Indiana for the next 40 years. He married Sharon Kohlfeld on August 4, 1973.
David was a faithful Catholic and a member of Good Shepherd Parish for most of his life. He was also a Cursillista and a member of the Knights of Columbus. A former pitcher himself, David was an avid baseball fan and was never happier than when he was cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He spent his time collecting baseball cards and coins.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, children, David Jacobsen (Hillary) Trout, Rebekkah (Christopher) Paras, and Hannah Trout, grandson, Ethan Paras, and his sisters, Kyle Allen and Mary Trout. He is also survived by his wonderful companion of 16 years, his Scottie, Molly. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N. Stockwell Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Zach Etienne officiating.
