Daniel Pietrowski

Dan Pietrowski was born December 3rd, 1947, to Leonard and Pauline Pietrowski, in Detroit, Michigan. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville, IN, on Saturday, May 20th, 2023.

Dan grew up in Detroit among family and staunch Polish tradition and carried those experiences into his adulthood where his heritage and his family remained the two most important elements of his life. After school, Dan enlisted in the United States Air Force and after being honorably discharged at the end of the time of his service, eventually found a landing spot in Evansville, IN, where he met his wife, Beverly, built their first home and started his family.

Dan made a living as a civil engineer, overseeing maintenance facilities at local hospitals as well as other facilities; later in life he worked as an underwriter surveyor for IPI where he was awarded 2022 Employee of the Year. Dan enjoyed creating a life as a devoted husband, a loving father, a youth hockey coach and an avid Detroit sports fan. Among his favorite things to do were vacationing with his wife at their cottage in northern Michigan, finding a good fishing hole and watching Michigan football games on fall Saturdays with his son, Josh.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Pauline, and his two brothers, James and Robert. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, his son, Joshua, his three sisters, Marie (Petschke), Loretta (Taylor), Gloria (Huffman) and many, many extended family members.

A Celebration of Life service for friends and family will be held Friday, May 26th, 4:00 PM, at Salem United Methodist Church, 6311 Kratzville Rd., Evansville, IN, with a proper wake to follow at 5:00 PM, at Doc’s Sports Bar, 1305 Stringtown Rd., Evansville.
