Clarence “Sonny” G. Zehner, 94, of Evansville, IN passed away the Linda E. White Hospice House on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born in Elberfeld, IN on January 26, 1930 to the late Clarence Martin and Anna (Wolf) Zehner.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He retired from Brandeis Machinery after 40 years. Clarence was a member of the Owls Nest 30. He enjoyed woodworking and loved Otters baseball.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Anna Zehner; sisters, Betty Edmonds and Delores Gentry; and brother, Marvin Zehner.
He is survived by his son, Michael Zehner and wife April; his lifelong companion, Antoinette Barr; bonus children, Karen Meny, Eugene Barr, and Wayne Barr; grandchildren, Erica, Rachel, and Ryan; nieces, Cindy, Ruth, and Rebecca; and nephews, Steve, and Gary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN followed by entombment at Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
