Charlie graduated from Purdue School of Pharmacy in 1971 where he was a member of Theta XI Fraternity. He worked in retail pharmacy prior to working at St. Mary’s Pharmacy for the past 20 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, including many good times spent with lifelong friend Tom Schwartz. Charlie especially loved spending time at his place on Barkley Lake and fishing with his faithful dog Maggie. He was a member of the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Ruth Strasser.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Pamela; mother-in-law, Mary Dickhart; sister-in-law, Linda Bulger; brother-in-law, Teddy Bulger; nieces, Kristen Talley, Melissa McClain, Melinda Redman, Andrea Bulger; 7 great nieces and nephews; and five cousins.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Rev. Lynn Marino with burial to follow. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the cemetery chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to a recently formed non-profit Canine rescue organization, Takes a Village Canine Rescue, 3402 Austin Avenue, Evansville, IN 47712.
