Carl Earnest Meyer, Jr., 95, rose into our lord Jesus’ loving arms on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, surrounded by his family .He was born on March 24, 1925 to the late Helen (Berg) and Carl E. Meyer, Sr.
Carl attended Reitz High School before proudly enlisting into the Navy at the age of 18. He served his country for 4 years during WW II on the submarine, USS 5-47. Returning home, he married his true love, Pauline M. Wood and they raised 4 children together. They shared 72 wonderful years of life together before her passing in 2016.
Carl loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting, especially rabbits and deer. There was never a bad day to go fishing with his family or a close friend. His best lures were made by him.
Family get togethers had Carl manning the grill, smoking and barbequing delicious meats all day to perfection. Followed by a game of horseshoes, washers, and lots of beer.
He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. post 2953. We are blessed knowing mom and dad are together again, dancing in Heaven.
