Obituary of Bettye Jean Crouse Roberts
In Loving Memory of Bettye Jean Crouse Roberts Bettye, 91, passed peacefully on September 8, 2023, at North Park Nursing Center in Evansville, Indiana. Born in Evansville, IN on December 16, 1931, to the late Darwin and Lillian (Hallmark) Johnson, Bettye's life was a testament to love and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She attended Central High School in Evansville, Indiana, and had a career spanning three decades at Mead Johnson's (Bristol Myers Squibb). Bettye is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jamie (Johnny) Flatt, and Josef (Tara) Koressel, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Alex and Ryan Flatt, and Sakura and Josefina Koressel; and cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister, Sandy (Paul) Neil, and brothers, Darwin, Ricky, Sonny, and Ronnie Johnson. Bettye was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Donald Crouse and Walter Roberts, and her beloved daughter, Rhonda Koressel. Her unwavering faith and sense of community were exemplified through her dedication to Forest Hills Baptist Church and The Cathedral. Bettye's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and faith will be fondly remembered and cherished by all who were touched by her presence. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm, with a time of remembrance at 6:30 pm, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Alexander Funeral Home West, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville IN, 47712, and on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Bettye's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Alexander Funeral Home West and officiated by Pastor James Wells. Burial will follow in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
