Betty graduated from St. Vincent Academy Union Co, KY and from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville in 1953. She enjoyed reading, gardening, going for walks, and hosting holidays for her family.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Katie Toombs and Gordon Clements of Morganfield, KY and Phyllis Brodenkamp of Evansville, IN,; half sisters, Mary Angela “Chissi” Clements and Anna Florence “Trinx”; half brothers, John R. Clements, James L. “Boss” Clements, and William F. Clements; and son-in-law David Horstman.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Horstman; sons, John Ellis (Diane) and Chris Ellis (Annette); granddaughters, Katy Horstman, Jennifer Corressell, Kristy Brandley, Stephanie Shirel, and Brooke Ellis; great granddaughters, Hope McManaway and Emma Shirel; step granddaughters, Jerzi and Tinsley Shirel; sister, Lillian Frances Kavanaugh; and brother, Tommy Clements.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 2, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Jason Gries, with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday April 1, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd. Evansville, IN 47710.
