Bernice was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 24, 1925 to the late Emil and Lola Marie (Stafford) Stucki. She was a 1943 Reitz High School graduate where she was the Gridiron Queen as a senior and later married the drum major, John Rudolph in 1945. She received the Kiwanis award for achievement. Bernice was active in choral groups in various churches and All City Orchestra. She studied voice under Margaret Shepherd and Genevieve Harper. In 1942 Bernice won the title of Indiana Miss Snow White and was national runner-up. She was a 50 year member of the Daughters of the Nile Egyptian Band as well as a Deaconess Auxiliary Life Member. She was Director of J.H. Rudolph and Company Inc. Bernice was a happy woman who loved to inspire people with her happiness. She loved spending time with her family. Bernice will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Dona Rose Bennett of Evansville, IN and Debra Kae Dendinger (Rex) of Estero, FL; son, J. Steven Rudolph (Amanda) of Marco Island, FL; sister, Gloria Altman; brother, Jerry Stucki (Lois); sisters-in-law; Margaret Stucki and Laura Stucki; grandchildren, Aaron Bennett (Angie), Stacey Olberding, Chris Bennett (Mindy), John Rudolph (Melissa), Leslie Campbell (Troy), Christina Cissell (Brian), Jason Claspell (Starlet), Ami Stevens, and Rex Dendinger III (Vanessa); 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and Margaret Logan of Carmi, IL.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, R. John Rudolph; by her parents; brothers, Laverne Stucki, Alvin Stucki, Jack Stucki and Donald Stucki; son-in-law, Thomas Bennett; and by granddaughter, Kristin Pearson.
A private entombment will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711.
