Barbara M. Andrews

Barbara M. Andrews, 81, of Henderson passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 2, 1942 in Doniphan, Missouri to the late Fred Montgomery and Mary (Goss) Montgomery.

She was a loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her friends and family knew her as “Peaches” and “Memaw.” She was a homemaker that loved her family very much. She also enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her cats, and growing her perfect salmon colored roses.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Kerman “Andy” Andrews; brother, Benny Montgomery; and daughter-in-law, Karen Wharton.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Haire (Tony); sons, Danny Wharton (Marlene) and Ted Wharton; daughters, Mary File (James), Dolly George (Jason); son, Curtis Basham; daughter, Christina Mohr; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandsons.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the Bishea Shelter at Burdette Park. Friends and family are welcome beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the shelter house where a luncheon will take place following the service.
