Obituary of Andrew C. "Andy" Mosier, Sr.
Andrew Carl “Andy” Mosier, Sr., 97, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1926 in Evansville, to the late Carl and Tessie (Hessen) Mosier. Andy was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II as Sgt. Tech-5 in the Pacific Theater. He proudly flew on Honor Flight #5 on October 22, 2016. Shortly after leaving the Service, Andy joined Indiana Bell as part of the “line gang”. He worked for Indiana Bell and AT&T until retiring after 45 years of service. After retirement, he owned and operated M&M Telephone Communications, Inc. where he continued his love for working on telephone systems for another 5 years. Andy loved being outdoors whether it was working in the yard or as he would say “piddling around” in the garage. However, his true love was camping and fishing. During his working years, he spent many weekends camping and fishing with his family at the Indiana Bell Conservation Club, “The Eighty”. After his retirement he & Nancy had a camper on Lake Barkley which became their second home. They loved being at the camp, going out on the pontoon boat, fishing, and having their grandkids down for weekends. He was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ where he served as a Trustee and was active in the Men’s Club. Andy was formerly a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he taught the Young Adult Sunday School class with his first wife, Mary Ellen Mosier. Andy was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Mosier (1973); his second wife, Nancy Mosier (2014); sisters, Catherine Mattingly (2007) and Leona Fink (2007); and grandson, Mikie Norrick (2015).
