He loved working in his garden, making pallets, watching westerns, eating home-style vanilla ice-cream, making chocolate pies, and cake every year for his kids on their birthdays. His favorite drink was Double Cola. He was a farmer and did custom hay bailing for over 40 years. He owned and operated his own construction company for 10 years. Alvin retired from Toro formerly Hahn Inc. in 2002. He always had to be working so after retirement he continued to farm and worked at Emma’s Place Feed Store.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma; son, Donald Droege; sister, Lucille Pfettscher.
Alvin is survived by his sons, Alvin Droege Jr., Daniel Droege, and Robert Droege; daughter, Karen Powers (Tim); Grandchildren, Adam Droege (Debra), Brandon Droege (Katie), Caitlyn Barton (Nate), Heather Anacleto (Juan), Zach Powers; great grandchildren, Katelyn Pirtle, Claire Droege, Carly Droege, Connor Anacleto, Elliot Anacleto, and Caiden Droege.; siblings, Viola Rowland, Edna Mosby, and Fred Droege.
A private service will be held at Alexander West Chapel with Entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Alvin’s funeral will be livestreamed Friday May 8, 2020 at 2 PM.
