Agnes “Minona” Gaisser, 92, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Deaconess VNA Plus Hospice. She was born August 4, 1923, in Bingen, AR to the late Charles Martin and Agnes (Clark) Hipp.
Minona retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation in 1986 after 29 years of service. During WWII she worked in a Rosie the Riveter production plant. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was supportive of the PTA and had been a past president. Minona adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a wonderful cook and baker. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed traveling, playing Clabber, loved nature and watching the birds, and walking trails at Wesselman Woods.
Minona was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Gaisser, Sr.; nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Bill Gaisser (Matt Kissel); daughters, Sue Huston, both of Evansville, and Linda (Pat) Rea of New Albany; grandchildren, Jason (Heidi) Rea, Erin (James) Rea Lewis, and Chris (Cady) Huston; great-grandchildren, Aidian, Kadin, Tate, Flannery, Evangeline, Alice, and Noah; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 2, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jason Rea, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
