Nancy L. Evans

Nancy Lou Evans passed and went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2022, in Fort Collins, Colorado under the wonderful care of Pathways. Her husband, Robert (Bob) W. Evans of Fort Collins, and daughter, Stephanie M. Dansereau, of Jupiter, Florida were at her side.

Nancy was born in Kansas City, Missouri to the parents of Edwin & Jean Carlson. Jean preceded her in death, and Ed continues to reside at North Shore Health & Rehab Facility, Loveland, Colorado. The Carlson family were long-time residents of Fort Collins and then Estes Park during their retirement.

Nancy graduated from Poudre High School in 1969. She later graduated from Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kansas where she and Bob were married on the campus of the university in May 1973. Nancy taught junior high English in Emporia, Kansas, following her graduation from Ottawa University.

Nancy was on the church staff at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, then served at the First Baptist Church of Manhattan, Kansas. During Bob and Nancy’s time in State College, Pennsylvania, she continued to serve at her local church. At the same time, she became involved in the community choir program and participated for several years in the annual Christmas Madrigal Dinner Theatre for State College.

For the last 22 years, Nancy has been a member of LifePointe Church of Fort Collins. She has worked in several service positions and recently completed her work as Production Director for the Worship Arts ministry at LifePointe. During the last 50 years, she has been an active member of P.E.O (Philanthropic Educational Organization). She served in various leadership positions and was most recently President of her chapter in Fort Collins, CO; In addition, she previously served as President of P.E.O. chapters in Springfield, VA; State College, PA; Manhattan, KS; and Atlanta, GA. She worked in P.E.O. to meet the goal of “Women helping women reach for the stars.”

Nancy is survived by her father, Ed Carlson, Loveland, CO; her husband, Bob Evans, Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Stephanie Dansereau, Jupiter, FL. Son-in-Law, Derrick Dansereau, Jupiter, FL; and three grandchildren, Caroline, Hayden, and Preston Dansereau of Jupiter, FL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at LifePointe Church, 900 E Prospect Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80524. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment will be at the Estes Valley Memorial Gardens, Estes Park, Colorado.
