Susanne Balash Boyd Scott died July 25, 2018 in her home in Temecula, California, she was surrounded by her family. She was 77 years young. She was born Thursday October 24, 1940 to Fredrick Oscar and Mary (Vodde) Balash in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Susanne move to Mesa, Arizona as a young girl. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1962. She married Dr. Greg Boyd in September 1963 and then moved to Show Low, Arizona. Susanne and Greg raised 3 children: Jeff, Russ, and Karen.
Family was very important to Susanne and she loved to cook for them. When Susanne was not cooking, you would find her reading and listening to music. As a family, they loved to go camping, riding horses, making tamales, playing games at family gatherings, and entertaining in general. She also loved all her puppy dogs: Noodle 1, Noodle 2, Pretzel 1, Pretzel 2, Pretzel 3…, Gus, Mac, and Angel.
Susanne was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a major supporter of her children’s activates such as baseball and the Rainbow Girls.
In 1995 she moved to Tucson, Arizona and in February 14, 2001 she married Billy Scott at her home.
She is survived by her sons Jeff Boyd of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Russ Boyd of Comanche, Oklahoma, and daughter Karen Lakso of Temecula California; granddaughters Tayloranne Lakso (Karen) and Kari Boyd (Russ); and sister-in-law Carolyn Balash, and nieces Cheryl and Michelle; as well as extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred Oscar and Mary Balash, and her brother Fred Albert Balash; and her second husband Billy Bob Scott.
