Sue Rose Weipert ( Schlesinger) 84 years of age, resident of Escondido, California passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2018 in her home to be with our Lord. She was born in Belleville, Illinois on June 30th 1933 to George P. and Hester C. (Roney) Schlesinger.
Sue was the first woman Marine in her hometown and she proudly served our country during the Korean War. She was a member of the American Legion and was just recently honored with a 30 year pin. Sue married Clyde M. Ribb Jr. with whom she had two children, Steve & Sheryl Ribb,. She also helped raise Clyde’s 3 daughters, Clara, Donna & Patricia. After her divorce from Clyde, Sue married Gene F. Weipert, they spent many years traveling and making many wonderful memories until Gene passed away in 2008. After Gene’s passing, Sue spent the rest of her years with her partner Raymond Knutson until he passed in March 2017.
Sue had a passion for numbers and was an accountant for over 50 years. Her list of employment included SDG&E, Hewlett Packard and most recently Melbrod Financial. This passion for numbers is also why she loved Bingo and playing cards. Sue was very talented and had a love for crocheting and making beaded jewelry; her love for baseball came from Raymond.
She is survived by her 2 sisters, Nancy Giles & Mary Whaley, her 2 children, stepchildren, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren whom she loved and was loved by very much. Sue will be forever in our hearts and memories. Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Sue, April 29th 2018, @ 2:00 pm. @ Imperial Mobile Home Estates in Escondido.
