Daniel Deaton was 65 years old when he went to be with his Savior on August 31st, after almost four years of battling brain cancer. Dan was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on August 4, 1951 to Daniel and Lois Deaton. He received his bachelors degree in Economics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and three Masters degrees from Gordon Conwell Seminary and Princeton Seminary. He was a brilliant man who served God as a pastor of multiple churches, a compassionate Navy Chaplain, and a Senior Systems Engineer. He retired his decorated Navy career after 29 years of service to his country, spending his last several years in the Pentagon with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Dan is survived by his parents, Daniel and Lois, his brother David, his wife Barbara, his daughters Katie, Sarah, Emily and their spouses (Justin, Derek and George), and his three grandchildren Karly, Christian, and Hannah.
Daniel Deaton’s memorial will be held on Sunday, September 18th at 3pm at New Life Presbyterian Church, located at 615 W Citracado Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025. Daniel will be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 20th at Miramar National Cemetery at 10am with full military honors.
