George Minnis Provins, 88 of Englewood passed away peacefully Thursday, March 29 at home. George leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Anna (Prewitt) Provins of 60 years, two daughters and sons-in-law Wanda and Ralph Bryant and Dianna and Tom Clutter. Also surviving are his grandchildren Anthony Cook and his wife Megan, Trenton Cook, Nicholas Clutter, Jessica Kunk and her husband Dustin, two sisters Mary Evelyn Partin, Susanne Housley. He was preceded in death by a sister Bertha Trammell, three brothers Cecil, Ulysses, William “Billy” Provins, two brothers-in-law Horace Partin, Doug Housley. George retired after 33 years of service from Chrysler Corp. where he was a welder, he was also US Army veteran and was an ordained minister with the Missionary Baptist Church. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road starting at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of George’s life at 11:00 am with Pastor Melvin King presiding.
