KEMPER, Edward S., 74 of Englewood, passed away peacefully Monday, November 16, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton with his family at his side. Ed leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years, Alma (nee Gilbert) Kemper; three sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Melissa Kemper of Englewood, John and Deena Kemper of Dayton, Kevin and Brianna Kemper of Pickerington; eight grandchildren Dylan and his fiancé Julie, Alec, Taylor, Olivia, Aidan, Mary, Lily and Zoe; one great-granddaughter Skyler. Also surviving are two brothers Richard and Barbara Kemper of Elkhart, IN, Robert Kemper of Winston-Salem, NC, one sister Ruth and Dick Zigenbusch of Montezuma, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Ed was retired as VP of Sales from Dayton Door Sales after 35 years, was a City Council Member for the City of Englewood before becoming Mayor of Englewood in 1980 and retired from that position in 1998. He was a Charter Member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Past President of Northmont Jaycee’s, was Assistant to the Montgomery County Commissioners for 5 years, was Co-founder with his wife Alma of the Englewood Sister City (Bilerbeck Germany) Club, Member of Englewood Fine Arts Council, one of the Founding Members of the Ohio National Road Association since 2000, member of St. Paul Knights of Columbus and was a Volunteer for the Dayton Physicians Group in the Infusion Center at Good Samaritan North for 7 years. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at the ENGLEWOOD GOVERNMENT CENTER, 333 West National Road, Englewood, Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1000 West Wenger Road, Englewood with Fr. Ronald Wilker, Fr. Kenneth Baker, Fr. James Seibert C.PP.S., con-celebrants. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Englewood. Contributions in memory of Ed may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
