FRANZ, Doris M. age 95 of Old North Dayton passed away Sunday, September 13 at Cypress Pointe in Englewood. She was born April 4, 1920 in Dayton the daughter of Charles and Rosa (Larger) Foland, who precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom Sr.; brothers Richard, Russell and Charles “Chick”; daughters Martha Watson-Ankeney and Nora; sons Paul and Michael, sons-in-law George Watson and Frank Davis; granddaughter Theresa Huden. Doris leaves to cherish her memory five daughters and their spouses Kathleen and Robert Gallihar of Englewood, Mary Davis of FL, Joan and Michael Bertke of Dayton, Julie and Gary Dillon of Columbus, Doris “Dodie” and Jim “Bo” Creech of Dayton; three sons and one daughter-in-law Tom Jr. and Barb of Englewood, Charles and Mark both of Dayton, as well as 36 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 39 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Monica “Mona” Franz of Greenville, numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Doris retired from St. Elizabeth Medical Center and later 2J Supply. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, September 18 at OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 22 Notre Dame Avenue, Dayton with Fr. James Seibert C.PP.S. celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Doris’ memory may be made to Miami Valley Downs Syndrome Association, Hospice of Dayton or Our Lady of the Rosary School.
