GASPER, Betty Lou, 86 of Englewood, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Chuck and Tanya Kline of AZ; two grandsons Chris and Kendra Kline of Huber Heights, Sean and “Granddaughter” Betty Kline of Englewood; two great-grandsons Austin and Lucas Kline, great-granddaughter Sabrina Kline; step-grandson Jason and Carrol Cabrera, step-granddaughter Jennifer Cabrera; step-great-grandson Gabriel, step-great-granddaughter Isabel. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Karl Andrew Gasper in 2000 and a son Andrew “Andy” Gasper in 2011. She was a graduate of WSU receiving her degree in education, she taught for 6 years in the Dixie School System and then at Stillwater teaching in the MRDD department for over 20 years. Betty was also a member of the Eastern Star in the 1930’s - 40’s, was a Candy Striper at WPAFB in the 1940’s – 50’s and in the early days of racing, pre-NASCAR worked with her father and brother on the racing circuit. There will be a Gathering of Family and friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 3 – 5 pm. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be Monday, September 9, at 1 pm at the funeral home with Fr. James Seibert C.PP.S. presiding, burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 5450 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45426 in memory of Betty.
