William S Bowers

William (Bill) Scott Bowers Sr. passed away at home surrounded by family November 28, 2023. Bill was born in Oak Lawn on February 13, 1956. He grew up in Harvey, Illinois and became a Florida resident in August of 1999.

Bill enjoyed being involved in church where he played the organ for nearly fifteen years. In all things he did, Bill enjoyed entertaining a full house with family and friends, manning the grill, politics, cigars, and a nice glass of whiskey, but he most enjoyed being a Papa and watching his grandchildren having fun. He was adored by all who had the chance to meet him. He touched many lives and his humor made everyone around him laugh.

Bill is preceded in death by his son William S Bowers Jr, father William W. Bowers, and mother Patricia L. Bowers. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Joan Bowers, his children Stacy (Jake) Neef and Kristine (Nick) Baltimore, and his grandchildren, Brianna Neef, Brayden Neef, Brooklynn Neef, Bailey Neef, Joseph Bowers, Makenna Bowers, and Delaney Bowers.

The joy he shared with others was immeasurable and he will be missed by everyone for the rest of their lives.

"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood, in the Chapel of Peace, with burial to follow.
