Rose Marie Wiegand

Rose Marie Wiegand, the matriarch of the Wiegand family, returned to the Lord on July 15, 2022. Rose Marie was first and foremost the Wiegand family’s loving wife and mother. She was devoted to serving her family and her community as well as working in the nursing field in hospitals, medical offices, and schools until retiring to Florida. She was an active member of the church where she faithfully served Stephens Ministry. Rose Marie will be remembered for her incredible love of her family and friends, her tremendous energy, and her compassion and kindness to all those she met. She had a passion for gardening and meeting new people and enjoyed reading, swimming, yoga, and baking.

Rose Marie was born August 9, 1941 in Goshen, NY to Ambrose and Rose Sheridan Reynolds. Rose Marie graduated from Saint John’s Catholic High School and attended Saint Joseph’s Nursing School in Yonkers, NY. Upon graduation Rose Marie married Edward W. Wiegand who faithfully served the Coast Guard for more than 25 years.

Rose Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Captain Edward W. Wiegand of Englewood, FL and her brother, Thomas Reynolds of New York, NY. She is survived by her siblings; John Reynolds of Venice, FL, Kathleen Reynolds of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kevin Reynolds of Honolulu, HI, Mary Mayes of Crossville, TN (Mike), four children; Rebecca W. White of Englewood, FL (Ken), Melissa M. Wiegand of Manhattan, NY, Edward E. Wiegand of Atlanta, GA (Theresa), and Kristin E. Domian (Bryan) of Englewood, FL. Rose Marie was blessed to have 6 grandchildren; Samantha, Elliott, Addyson, Kathryn, Alexander, and Andrew and 1 great grandson; Kenneth.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. EST at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, Florida. There will also be live streaming of the Mass for those who are unable to attend in-person (https://epiphanycathedral.org).
