Mary Lee York

She was born on July 2, 1928, to Robert N. (Bob) and Catherine G. (Kate) Woodward.

She was employed by Central Foundry Division GMC as their receptionist. It was there she met her future husband, Harold F. York. They were married on June 20, 1953.

She was Johns-Manville’s secretary-receptionist for 24 years, retiring in 1977 when she and her husband moved to Englewood, Florida that year.

She finished her working career as a receptionist for First Federal S&L of Englewood from 1978-1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2010 and her sister Helen (Sis) Deitrick who passed the same day as Mary Lee in 2013.

She is survived by a niece, Jane Druhot (Roger Shawley), two great-nephews Benjamin and Ryan Druhot, great-great niece Lillyanna, great-great nephew Mackaivelli, and sister-in-law June Weirauch of Midland, Michigan.

At Mary Lee’s request there was no viewing or service.

Interment was at The Chapel of Peace, Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood, Florida. Lemon Bay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
