Maria was born May 20th , 1929 in Trostyanets, Ukraine. Her childhood and young adult life was very difficult due to WWII. In 1936, when Maria was a little child she lost her dad, who was arrested by KGB because they had a little church gathering in his house. After that nobody ever saw him again. Maria was the oldest in the family. She started working at the young age to help her mom take care of the younger siblings. In 1950 Maria dedicated her life to the Lord. And in 1952, she married Peter. They were always serving the Lord together. She loved to sing and take care of her grandkids. In 1990 the family immigrated to America. They were actively involved in the local church in Syracuse, NY. In 2021 they moved to North port, Florida. Peter and Maria lived together 70 years. They were a great example to their family. Maria was predeceased by her husband Peter, son Vladimir and daughter-in-law Anna. Surviving are children, Nadezhda (Roman) Kaskov, Sergey (Luba) Kowalik, Leonid (Luba)Kowalik, Tatyana (Val) Gruzdov, daughter-in-law Valentina Kowalik,18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Maria will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293.
Maria will be laid to rest following the service at Gulf Pines Memorial Park 2401 Engelwood Rd. Englewood, FL 34223
