Linda P. Davis

Linda was the oldest of eleven children, and through necessity and an affinity for helping others, dropped out of school to care for her younger siblings at the age of 16. She pursued a career in the medical profession that began as a Medical Specialist in the U.S. Army National Guard, and later, a Paramedic, Firefighter, and Licensed Practical Nurse in the patient care fields of dialysis, oncology, cardiology, and home health.

The simple things in life that many of us take for granted today, like ice cream, Pepsi, and fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea, never lost their luster in her eyes. She thoroughly enjoyed the darkest of dark chocolate, a good movie, and true crime novels. She loved country music and was an accomplished amateur singer/entertainer. Through her “little but loud” performances, Lindy won the hearts of her audience on the weekends and received more than one standing ovation throughout Florida, Texas, Virginia and Hawaii.

She intimately knew the value of hard work, the pride of accomplishment and believed that caring for others was society’s highest calling. Throughout her life, Linda gave her full measure of compassion to family and strangers alike, and truly represented the field of Nursing with her tender heart, compassionate words, and the healing hands of a quiet hero we all recognize as the essence of what a nurse is. She saved the best of everything she had for those in need.

Linda is survived by her husband, James H. Davis III of Englewood, FL, siblings, three children, and numerous grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

Pending family arrival from out of the country, a Veteran's Memorial Service will held at 4:00 pm on Sunday November 27, 2022 at VFW Post #10167 @ 4619 Bartelt Road, Holiday, FL 34690.
