June Marie Oliver, 92, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. She was a resident of Venice Gardens Assisted Living at the time of her departure to Heaven.
June was born June 1, 1928 in Akron, Ohio. She was the oldest of seven children and was preceded in death by her sister Helen, and brothers Richard, George, David, and James. She is survived by her younger brother, Fred (Joyce).
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles.
June was an RN (Registered Nurse) and PA (Physicians Assistant). When she graduated from Nursing School she went to Thailand as a missionary nurse. When she returned to the states she served as head nurse at The Haven of Rest Rescue Mission before returning to the mission field.
While serving in Guam, she met and married Charles Oliver (January 27, 1984). They returned to Guam, and also went to Russia with Men for Missions. June was instrumental in setting up guidelines for EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technician) in the state of Florida.
June was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in North Port. She served as an Elder and member of the Missions Committee.
June loved the Lord Jesus and longed to go home to Heaven. She is at home at last!
