Ginny was born in Chicago in 1942, the eldest of six children born to Frank and Peggy (Dillon) Miller. After the family moved to California, Ginny graduated from Marymount High School in Los Angeles and Loyola Marymount University.
In the sixties and seventies, Ginny worked as an executive secretary and then as a human resources manager until pursuing her lifelong dream of obtaining a master’s degree and teaching credential from San Diego State University. She went on to teach at Mary Star of the Sea in La Jolla and at schools in the San Diego area until her retirement.
Ginny married the love of her life, James (Jim) Redman in 2004 and they lived a happy, peaceful life together until his death in 2016.
Ginny was a beloved sister, auntie, and great auntie, as well as a dog mom to Coco, Molly and her dear Kelly. Ginny loved literature, music, and laughter. More than anything, she loved people and her family. She delighted in conversations with friends and hearing updates about her many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church in Encinitas at 10 AM on Thursday, November 7, with a Rosary at 9:30 AM in the church. A reception in the parish hall will follow Mass.
