Lora Lee, the daughter of Frederick Vernon Murphy and Elnora Jane Nobles, was born in North Hollywood, the granddaughter of San Fernando and Los Angeles pioneers.
Lora Lee married the love of her life, James Reid Luntzel, Jr. in 1951 upon his graduation from flight training and they raised 6 children while traveling across the USA, North Africa and the Middle East. Lora Lee was a courageous, loving and devoted mother -- always with a sparkling sense of humor -- to her children, and unwavering in her support to husband Jim while he served in the US Air Force during the Cold War and in Vietnam, and in his subsequent varied entrepreneurial endeavors.
Lora Lee was preceded in death by her brother Frederick Murphy, II. She is survived by her sister, Jerri Rae Hunt; children James Reid III (Colleen), Jeff, Greg (Holly), Don (Brenda), Vicki, and Karen (Marc) Vigdor; grandchildren, Jenelle, Anne, Daniel, Bonnie, Jimmy, Matthew, Kaeley, Kimberley, Robert, Michael, Gregory, Jon, Logan, and Samuel; and greatgrandchildren, Dulce, Ella, Bernardo, Felix, James Reid IV, Noah, Joshua, Giacomo, Hannah.
Lora Lee is deeply missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly and were blessed to be part of her life.
There will be an internment ceremony at 11:30 Miramar National Cemetery on Nov 3rd followed by a private celebration of life at the Green Valley Estates Clubhouse in Encinitas.
