It was an honor and a pleasure to have had you in our lives.  You will be missed.

Dear Diana: 
You were always there for Jack. You found each other when you both needed a friend.  You spent many meaningful hours together. You were Jack's right hand and both ears. 

You can know that Jack really appreciated you as a dear friend and  forever companion.  

Be thankful and grateful for all your happy times spent together on your bicycles, on the dance floor, at your favorite restaurants, and at home for a John Wayne movie.

Jack, do you recall asking a gal to dance with you about 16 yrs ago? You met her @ a WOW gathering, and the two of you became friends!
     Diana, who volunteered in our Infant room @ Alexian Brothers Hospital, every Tuesday from 10a-2pm, often shared the planned adventures of a future vacation that you had asked Diana to accompany you on. Never one for random selections, you mapped out specific sites you'd like to visit, and Diana was always willing to go along with you. You shared your love of eating out! Buffets were always #1 and you made it a point to plan your vacations so that, you wouldn't be too far away from a Golden Corral or a seafood restaurant!
    Jack, in recent years, your health rapidly deteriorated, yet, it was Diana who stood by you. She was there for you, when your only son, passed away, far too early. Your daughter who lived far away, wasn't able to assist you, as often as Diana did.
   In the Navy, Jack, you and your comrades fought & endured difficult times, when challenged by WWIi. And now, the only one who has stood by you is Diana. Surely, she will learn to move forward and becomes involved, once again.
   As for me, I will miss your hearty laugh. I will miss your presence, both mentally & spiritually. You always gave Diana reason to smile.
   Jack you will be my forever "hero!"

Dear Diana;
My heartfelt condolences on your loss. Watching your devotion in caring for Jack was one of the most profound acts of loving kindness i have ever witnessed. What a love story. 
I can still see you two whirling around the dance floor at the Willowbrook Ballroom. And remember you two presenting the flower wreath together at our Memorial Day ceremony. Always happy, and having a good time. 
Wishing you comfort during this challenging time.
