Susan J Horan Ph.D 83 of Parrish FL, passed away on December 30, 2023. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on December 16, 1940 and spent many years in Buffalo and Syracuse, NY before retiring to Florida in 1994.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents James and Eleanor (Mellor) Moss; and her brother Jerry Moss.
She was married to the love of her life George C Horan for 61 years. Together they shared a beautiful daughter Tracey (James) VanDyke and son Timothy (Deedee Hartley) Horan and a granddaughter Madison VanDyke.
Susan worked in the Anthropology department at the University of Buffalo where she received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Anthropology. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched many lives throughout her lifetime.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Groover Funeral Home, Ellenton, Florida. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Susan's memory.
