Preceded in death by wife Maureen, parents Stephen and Mary Caswell and sister Jackie.
He is survived by his children Melissa (Todd) Olson, Melinda (Joe) Begin and Stephanie (Mike) Ohme, his partner in life Vicki Jenkins and her children Mara (Wade) Streich and Cristy Jenkins, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, his sisters Carolyn (Don) Anderson, Mary (Glen) Larson and Bonnie VanAuken and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was born on January 19, 1948, and grew up in New Brighton, MN. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and earning a Bronze Star in Vietnam. Once out of the service he settled back to New Brighton where he raised his family. Steve loved his New Brighton years spending time with family, friends and neighbors along with his beloved wife Maureen. They hosted some of the most epic Booyah and pool parties New Brighton had ever seen! He spent time contributing to his community as a volunteer Firefighter for 25 years and after his retirement from the trucking industry he worked for the Moundsview School District before moving in 2011 to Florida with his loving significant other, Vicki. Although he grumbled about the hurricanes, he liked to relax on his lanai feeding the wildlife and also going to Anna Maria Island. He kept active biking with Sarasota-Manatee Bicycle Club as both a rider and ride leader (Pizza Tuesdays were his favorite) and fished the Gulf of Mexico whenever he could. He loved having visitors in Florida and his role as the designated tour guide.
Steve was very loyal and loving to his family and friends and that was always most important to him. He maintained his wit and sense of humor throughout his aggressive treatments and rarely complained, always had a smile and expressed his love and gratitude daily.
Past President of the Eagles #3718, Life Member of the VFW Post #724 and member of the Rosetown Legion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Steve’s name to the Eagles Auxiliary #3718 Cancer Fund
