He was born in Coloma, Michigan on 10 December 1923 to parents Thomas and Ruth (Edinborough) Warren. Bob was married to his childhood sweetheart Mildred (Millie) Weber Warren for 66 years.
Bob attended Michigan State University until the outbreak of WWII. He served as a Marine Corps night fighter pilot in the Pacific Theatre. He continued his service in the Marine Corps as a pioneer in helicopters in Korea and served on IIIMaf in Vietnam. He later commanded a jet squadron and an air group. During his military career (1942-1969), Bob received six Distinguished Flying Crosses. He was inducted into the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame in 2011.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Millie Warren; Clara Scott Warren; William Dean (brother);Walt and Marnie Weber (brother and sister-in law); George (Millie) Warren (brother and sister-in-law); Helen and Gene McKean (sister and brother-in-law); and Conrad Metz (son-in-law). He is survived by his wife Rosemarie Wagner Warren; children, William Dean Warren (Jan) and Jeanne Kay Warren Metz; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on 12 February 2021 at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton. Interment with full military honors will take place at 1:00 PM.
