Robert G. Metzger, age 91, passed away on April 26, 2018. He was born in Toledo, OH in 1926 to George and Dorothy (Steadman) Metzger. Bob joined the US Navy in 1944 toward the end of WWII and was on the ground during the Battle of Okinawa. He met Marion Raschke before joining the military and married her on leave in 1945. New York Central hired Bob after WWII to be a general car foreman with the Railroad and he retired when he was 53. Bob and Marion had 3 children whom survive them, Cindee, Connie and Marty. Bob has been a Mason since 1953 and earned the 32nd degree Mason at the Paragon Lodge #788. He loved baseball and loved taking care of his yard.
Bob is preceded in death by his twin brothers and his wife Marion. He is survived by children; Cindee (Judy), Connie (James) and Marty, and one grandson, Joshua Lowe. Bob’s wishes were for him to be taken back to Michigan and scattered. No services were planned at this time.
