Ralph "Randy" Donofrio, aged 60, of Palmetto Florida, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly surrounded by family on May 3, 2024.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, on November 15, 1963. He was baptized and raised of the Roman Catholic faith, where he continued with his children throughout the years.
Randy was a man of many talents and an unwavering commitment to helping others. He dedicated many years as a first responder firefighter with Liberty Township, where he was not only respected for his bravery and dedication but also cherished for his camaraderie and sense of humor. He carried these traits with him to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he worked diligently and formed lasting relationships with colleagues and those he knew.
Randy's role as a father to Michael (42) and Angela (34) was one he held above all others. His guidance, love, and humor shaped the lives of his children in innumerable ways, and his legacy continues through them. As a grandfather to Ava (12), Gabriella (8), and Daniel Jr. (6), Randy was a source of joy, laughter, and countless memorable moments. He embodied the role of 'grandad' with every bit of enthusiasm and love that he brought to every other aspect of his life.
Those who knew Randy understood that his presence was a gift. His hardworking nature, his dedication as a friend, and his boundless love for his family are the hallmarks of his life.
Randy is now reunited in death with his Parents, Ralph and Angie Donofrio; Maternal Grandparents, Leonard and Ann Giampetro; Paternal Grandparents, Peter and Catherine Donofrio; Aunts and Uncles: Anthony and Rosemarie Giampetro, Rose and George Giampetro, Ann and John Campana, Carl and Marty Giampetro, and Theresa Daly.
Randy is survived by his children: Michael Donofrio (Meghan Addy-Romo) Angela Donofrio (Daniel Baker) Their mother, Lori Donofrio; Grandchildren Gabriella "Bella" Baker, Daniel A. Baker JR and Ava Rose Donofrio; and Aunt Jean Toti. And best friend, Matthew Bresnahan in eternal peace.
Randy's life will be celebrated and remembered by all who were fortunate to know him. Groover Funeral Home in Ellenton, Florida, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
