Louise M Buehrly, 81, of Palmetto, Florida passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at her home after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born August 20, 1941, to Silas and Esther (LaRoque) Sutherland. She married Dale Edward Buehrly December 19, 1959, in the United Methodist Church Parsonage in Cass City. He predeceased her in 2012.
Louise worked full time for General Cable, helped Dale on the farm, and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She loved children and they all loved her since she was a child at heart. She combined these passions as a Sunday school teacher, she would always go the extra mile, driving around town to pick up children for Sunday School who did not have a way to get there.
The Progressive Class at the United Methodist Church gave her lifelong friends, they supported each other and enjoyed life together. She loved to plan menus and host parties for her friends. They took trips all over the US and abroad with those dear friends. She was always planning her next trip or event; there was something to look forward to.
Louise had a very strong faith and wanted others to know the God she knew. She enjoyed providing support to those in need as a chaplain for the Caro Post of the American Legion. She was always writing cards to those that were sick, supporting those who were grieving or helping to celebrate a milestone. Louise had a passion for life and wanted to live life to the fullest, she both helped and inspired those around her to as well.
In 2013, Louise decided it was time for her next adventure and moved to Palmetto, FL. She enjoyed the warm weather and all the activities she could participate in at Tropic Isles where she made her home. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, water aerobics, shuffleboard, and going to the beach. She would say she met the love of her life in 2015 when she met George Kuruzovich, her next door neighbor. They married October 8, 2016. Life became much richer for both of them as they made the most of each day. They enjoyed the best of Florida for the fall and winter. During the summer months they resided in their condo in Prudenville where they could host and reconnect with all her Michigan friends.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of six years, George; children: Larry Buehrly of Cass City; Christine (Ken) Harris of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren: Nathan Buehrly of Cass City; Scott (Stacey) Buehrly of Bad Axe; Lauren Harris of St Johns; Kenny Harris of St Johns; and a great grandchild: Brayden Buehrly.
