Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loved many friends throughout her life. She was a God loving, God fearing, precious soul. Joan had a smile that lit up a room. She was always caring and nurturing anyone around her. She always saw the good in everyone. Never wanting to be the center of attention. In her last hours, she was spiritually guiding her family as she was saying and pointing “Look Up, Look Up, Colors, Colors, Oh Boy, Shoes, Gold Shoes.”
She was preceding in death by her parents James Willis Lance and Sarah Essie Rogers, siblings Rhetta Jane Humphries and Laura Belle Fischer, daughter Penny Jo Wilson and granddaughter Victoria Meagan Brantley.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harry Dale Wilson, son Verdell Wilson, daughters Rebecca Harriet Arrick (Darron) and Marion Darlene Thacker (Ryan), grandsons; Curt Allen Wilson, Arnet Gordon Brantley IV, Jacob Elijah Brantley, Nolan Ryan Thacker and Rawley Lane Thacker, great grandchild Jerimiah Allen Wilson, sisters Barbara Jean Richards and Lucie Elvina Patterson (Bill) and brother Marvin Daniel Lance (Linda) along with many nephews and nieces whom she loved and cherished.
The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to all those who have supported them during this time of loss.
