I remember standing in your yard with my best friend, and you telling us the story of the biblical tree--man that was a long story, but a memorable one. It was also amazingly funny how tricky you were with the kumquats in your yard. You got me to try one, and then my best friend.. yup that was tricky-- and sour! I also remember fearing for my life when driving with you, you sleeping on your little stool, and you claiming the importance of eating grapefruit every day. I remember the suspicious foods in your freezer that you claimed were safe to eat.. I beg to differ! I remember you bringing out your giant sand-dollar, and with a clandestine look you stated in the soft voice of yours "The Smithsonian wanted this... but they can't have it." -- you then smiled that smile of yours that reached your eyes, and told me how you found it. You were amazing, and I only with I had more memories with you in them.

Grandpa we love you. I always thought of you as the most interesting man in the world. Your stories gave me examples to try and live my life by. Although I only seen you every couple of years as I grew up, every time I saw you I learned something new. The way you loved family, and your zest for life is somethingI always wanted to acheive. Although I can't golf that well, I'm looking forward to seeing you on the back 9 someday.
