Eleanor "Susan" Florence Lishness

Eleanor “Susan” F. Lishness, 97 passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Palmetto, Florida. She was born on June 1, 1918 in Portland, Maine to Marion and Florence Gwarjanski. Susan was a member of VFW post 2488 in Palmetto and Disabled American Veterans post 18 in Bradenton. She enjoyed life and loved to play cards, read and volunteering, especially at the Bay Pines VA. Susan always loved a good meal.

Susan is survived by her sister in laws Marie Gwarjanski and Louise (Richard) Letourneau, her nephews, Paul (Ann) Gwarjanski, Phillip (Jennifer) Gwarjanski, Stephen (Lisa) Gwarjanski, Joseph (Kelly) Gwarjanski and David (Kelly) Gwarjanski, her nieces, Ann Marie (Jim) Boucher, Cathy (Bruce) Bahlinger and Theresa (Brian) Litofsky and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Susan is preceded in death her parents Marion and Florence Gwarjanski, her husband Arthur Lishness, her brothers, Phillip Gwarjanski, J.P. Gwarjanski and Joseph Gwarjanski..

A visitation for Susan will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Groover Funeral Home in Ellenton. A Funeral Service Celebrating Susan’s life will immediately follow visitation at 1:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes all memorial donations be made to the VFW post 2488, 810 6th St W, Palmetto, FL 34221 in Susan’s memory.
