I will miss you Uncle Bob - it doesn't seem possible that you have passed. Uncle Bob was also known as "Cowboy Bob" (because of the cowboy hat he always wore) during the years he taught many hundreds of people to ski as an instructor at the Hyak Ski Area. I live in the Seattle area and the local TV and radio stations would often refer to "Cowboy Bob" - he was semi-famous on the west side of the Cascades.
I remember going on a 3 day fishing trip down Big Creek as a teenager with Uncle Bob and cousins Dennis, Gary, and Jerry. Uncle Bob was going to show us how a "real man" went hiking and only took 2 blankets - which were lighter than a sleeping bag. He froze his buns off at night! He was smart though - He started off with the heaviest pack, but made sure it was filled with food and provisions - by the last day he had the lightest pack!
There are many more things I could say, but most of all I will miss him.
