It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Linda Kay Irish, 60, passed away surrounded by her family on October 30, 2015 at her home in Ellensburg Washington after a courageous battle with Metastic Breast Cancer. She was born in Kalispell Montana, a twin to Larry, November 5, 1954 to the late Bonnie and Del McNeil. Linda attended schools in Easton and Ellensburg. She married John Malm in 1972, which was short lived, from that marriage came Linda’s first two children. In Dec. of 1976 Linda married Tim Irish and had two more children.
Linda’s home was always open to friend’s family and a menagerie of young people partially due to her time as a foster parent.
Linda will be remembered for her warm, positive personality, her love of God, and a woman who cared unconditionally and gave without question. Linda adored her large family; Spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren and cousins warmed her heart. Her laughter and smiling eyes lit up the room. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters made each day a little more enjoyable. Linda is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends
Her husband, parents and a baby brother and sister preceded her in death.
Linda is survived by her two beautiful daughters Zalyna (Gary) Huss and Elyse Snyder both of Ellensburg, and her two handsome sons Jeremy (Katie)Irish ,Richland, and Sam Irish of Ellensburg. Grandchildren Allie (Ismael) Colazo, Kane Huss, Calei and Connor Nocivelli and Jayson and Audrey Irish. Her honorary grandchildren Lizzy Snyder, Bailey Bews and Sierra Riggins. Her best friend and sister Judy McNeil, brothers Ray (Pat) McNeil, Allen (Cheryl) McNeil, twin brother Larry McNeil, Calvin (Christy) McNeil, and Kenny (Debbee) McNeil, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, gardening and reading to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her siblings, children and grandchildren to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.
We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends, but also students and colleagues, many of whom over time also became friends. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many. We invite you to join us and celebrate together.
