Ms. Savannah D. Wright was born in Elm City, North Carolina, the third child of the late Beatrice and David Lyons. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Silver Spring, MD near her daughters.
She received her formal education in the Wilson County school system and continued her education in becoming a Licensed Cosmetologist from Sayles College class of 1952. Later in life she was employed with Maryland State Government where she retired. She also served as the President of her local UNION where she dedicated her support for union workers striving for a better life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jessie of Wilson, NC and Columbus of Portsmouth, VA. Ms. Wright leaves to mourn her two daughters, Ms. Savannah A. Graham, and Mrs. Linda Barnes-Pretlow (Frank), both of Silver Spring, MD; Three grandsons which she adored, Wade Darrin Barnes (Erica) of Laurel, MD, Keith O'B Battle (Pauline) of Dover, Delaware and Kelvin L. Battle of Owing Mills, MD, Six Grant Grandchildren, Four Great, Great Grandchildren, and a host of both nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
