My prayers to you, and Robb''s family.  I worked with Robb at OPM, Investigation Division.  Robb, came to our Division as a Reviewer.  Later, when we all moved to 6th E Streets N.W., Robb , became my supervisor.  It was great working with Robb.  Whenever,  you went to his Office with a problem.  Robb, would solve it with that smile and that wonderful laugh.  Everyone, loved him and he made many friends during his tenure at OPM.  He was a man who carried a touch of friendship.  Robb, came to the Spring Investigators Luncheon, American Legion, 9707 Rosensteel Av, Silver  Springs,  Md, about 4 years ago.  The group was more than happy to see him.  Although,  Robb, kept  everyone informed with his inspiring writings.   He writing always made me feel as if I needed to do more or give more.  We were all so blessed to have a person like Robb who showed all of, how to live with  a illness.  Robb, you did Winn the battle of your illness because you never gave in to the desease....
I thank you for sharing all the details.    I thank you  for teaching all of us that if you live long enough you will encounter many changes in your life.  I know he will have a ball in heaven because  Teresa Buckoski, just entered into the  holy eternal gates of heaven.... The two of you alone will lighten up the  pearly gates of heaven.

I am so sorry to have heard of Robbs passing.We went to Sussex, Deep Creek and Kenwood together.We were friends as early as first grade.I remember going over his house on Virginia Avenue in Essex.He had the best board games and toys.The last time  that I saw him was at our 40th reunion in 2011.I was lucky enough to share memories with him that night.He was a wonderful man and great person.He will be missed by many.My heart is heavy for the Browning family, s loss and also for mine in the most sincere way.Angels are with Robb now..My prayers are for him,

When I read your email I felt like I had just gotten a huge punch "to the gut."  I lost my Leukemia soul mate, and a friend who made a big difference in my life.  I recall the conversations we had when we were in Hopkins getting treatment.  I think we both learned a great deal about ourselves during that time, and as importantly, we learned a great deal about how precious each minute, hour, and day God blessed us with really meant.  We used to confide in each other how we realized not to ever take anything for granted.  Each moment was a gift.  We learned a lot about each other and developed our friendship as kindred spirits experiencing the pain and struggles of fighting cancer "tooth and nail."  

I learned a great deal from Robb.  His courage and simple "true grit" was an inspiration to me and I know many others.  he carried himself with grace and optimism and all of his many qualities inspired us all.  I will certainly miss him, but I'll never forget him.  He touched my life in ways that very few others have.

Our Lord Jesus brought Robb home, to enjoy his rewards of peace, love, and eternal life.  My only comfort today is that he is smiling down upon us and no longer feeling the ravages of Leukemia.

May the grace of God surround you, Jean, and your entire family, and may he provide you comfort through his infinite love and peace.

I wish I could have done more. My church folks were saddened by the news.  On the Sunday of  Memorial Day weekend, we sang the National Anthem and dedicated it to Robb's memory.  That's the song the kids always seem to want to sing over all the others.   

So many good memories of Robb!  I know he's up there with Marvin and all the others.  Marvin I'm sure was already prepared, having gone to Sam's Club and had the buffet already set up for his arrival.  Of course I could hear Kathy Baker, Marvin, what in God's name are we going to do with all this food!?!?!  Lana had all the tables decorated and the guys were ready to play cards.  I'm sure they are having a ball with no worries about how work is going to get done.

I am greatly saddened by this news. Robb and Jean were in my daily prayers.
Robb and I went through grades 2 to 12 together.  Robb was among the brightest people with whom I attended school.  We attended student council conventions.  I believed Robb would become a lawyer/politician or an accomplished scientist. He was really smart.
He sent me a note reminding me of riding a mini-bike when we were at Deep Creek Junior-Senior High school.
I only saw him occasionally after Kenwood High.  On those occasions we met he and I talked about  administering insulin to our respective dogs.
At our 40 year reunion in 2011, we discussed feeding the dear that would come on to his property.
Any person that will commit to the care of an innocent creature gets my respect.
The world is a lesser place today because a good man is gone.

I wanted you to know that I sent Robb a note sometime around Easter that I had told my Mom his inspiring story, while she was recovering from life saving surgery at age 91, and that she was amazed and I think inspired, too.  I don't know if he was ever in condition to learn that, but I wanted you to know how inspiring I find him to be.  He used his time to bring others to a stronger faith, and thanks to him, I will always link faith, humor, and bravery.

Please accept my sincere condolences at the passing of Robb. He was such a good guy and inspiration for many.

He once told me that he was here for a reason. I think that reason was to be an exemplar of the Christian faith in his personal and work life. You can tell from the replies to his emails.

In our conversations, he was willing to accept life or death: whatever God had in store for him. In spite of his trials, he was interested in the concerns of others, offering encouragement, consolation, congratulation, or whatever was appropriate.

As we say in my tradition, May his memory be eternal. Which is a way of saying, May his name be written in the Book of Life.

I worked with Robb at FSA/ED.  Robb was an awesome man; he will be missed.  Please remember that your Faith will bring you peace when you least expect it and when you need it the most.  It will be a peace that will allow you to smile through your tears, knowing that Robb is now in a beautiful life that God has promised us.   You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Robb approximately 28 years  at both OPM and ED.  He was a remarkable human being, friend, colleague and a natural leader.  He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and generously shared it with everyone!  I had nothing but love and respect for Robb. Everyone looked up to him because of the way he carried himself.  He had such a good heart, everything else just radiated from there.  

I am so very sorry for his loss, especially so young.  My heart goes out to Jean and his family.  During the time we worked together, he spoke of you often.     I picture Robb in heaven pain free, playing with his old doxies, feeding the birds and deer, eating a grapefruit for lunch, waiting to have a celebratory pizza with an old friend, going out on his boat for rockfish with his dad, and planning on what to enter at the county and state fairs.  He was truly one of a kind!

Among many things, Robb was an excellent photographer. When we two worked together on travel with OPM in the 90s, he spent an entire weekend snapping shots of houses of worship that had particularly beautiful and interesting architecture. My condolences to Jean & Family.

When you came upon the scene 62 years ago in 1953, I now had a baby brother.  How would one know then how that tiny infant would become the wonderful man you are.

Psychology books tell that sibling rivalry is almost always present in families and I guess that rivalry would sometimes rear its ugly head in ours.  The time I shook your baby carriage pram with you in it until Mom intervened to protect you from my attack and Dad filmed the episode for future family humor and my eternal embarrassment.   You were my playmate.  How many board games were interrupted with, "Mom, he's cheating" and how many times in the family car, did our parents hear "he's on my side" or "he' sticking his tongue out at me."  Though the rivalry may have existed, we were linked like Siamese twins -  Ronnie and Robbie whether to the Hardings or the Brownings or playmates or neighborhood kids. How we changed Mom and Dad's yard to a baseball stadium, a badminton court, a snow fort or a cardboard box village of boxes dragged in from the appliance store.  And how many glasses of water did Mom give out to refresh our friends and playmates.  Thanks Mom.

Robb you were my roommate, sharing the same bedroom and furniture, aquarium, encyclopedias, record player and typewriter.  And when our twin sisters came upon the scene, we partnered and divided them for babysitting and watching.  You watched over Debbie; I watched over Jeanette to help Mom and Dad.

Through Kenwood HS and UMBC college, the Browning brothers made their way to graduation and we dreamed together of seeing all those places we had studied about - you concentrated on history - ancient and medieval.  With every hard earned dollar you made working as a salesman at Montgomery Ward in Middlesex or as Santa Claus at Eastpoint Mall you were able to save to travel the world.  You Robb were my travel companion, my fellow explorer - we watched out for each other and protected each other in so many strange situations and countries.  Driving your Ford Granada through Canada, the Plymouth Fury through Mexico (that's when we both challenged each other to grow a mustache; I never shaved mine) and the Yucatan, touring the Orient, flying to the Caribbean Islands, climbing volcanoes and exploring Greek and Roman ruins.  Boy, did we travel - what adventures we had.  

I was the best man at your wedding to Jean, as we welcomed her into the family.  I bought my first car; so did you shortly after.  I got an apartment, so did you; I bought a house, so did you shortly thereafter.  Could that sibling rivalry have reared again?   It certainly showed during those Easter Egg hunts at  Aunt Irma and Aunt Joan's or the game days at Jan and Deb's.  I was the opponent you had to beat.  But any brother rivalry had really faded.  No longer did it matter especially when you would hug me and introduce me as your little brother - since my 5'8" never reached your height.   Still Robb, I am your older brother.  And how the family craved your luscious jellies, relishes and pickles.  Award winning recipes at county and state fairs that showed your grandmother Harding in you.

And when you were diagnosed in January in 2013, the family gathered to your defense.  Learning that perhaps my blood could be what would help you, indecision never crossed my mind for a moment - you're my brother, you're my friend, my buddy, you're my pal, you're my travel companion, my playmate, my hero.  You were the Roman gladiator, the Spartan warrior, the Medieval Knight in shining armor.  The disease was our opponent.  I was to be the other knight to help in your Crusade.  But we never had that opportunity; we were never given that chance.  Your armor was slashed and you, the Knight fell.  We never had the opportunity to be true blood brothers.

Love you Robb.  Let us lay our shining Knight to rest, his Crusade is over.

Robb was my best friend in Kenwood High School. Robb did not have a drivers license so I drove him everywhere. He was President of the Student Council and taught me calculus. We went to UMBC together where I met my future wife, Judi. Robb was Best Man in my wedding in 1974. We send prayer and condolences to the family for peace during their grief.

Robb and I worked together at OPM for many years and even though our offices were a thousand miles apart I enjoyed our collegial relationship and knew that Robb was someone special. Robb was an outstanding man and friend who could bring calm to chaos, joy to sorrow  and had an infectious humor to make you smile daily. Our loss is heavens gain. My thoughts and prayers to Jean and his family.

Robb and I lived on Virginia Avenue during our childhood. We played a lot of whiffle ball in his yard. His yard was the neighborhood ball field because it was the biggest yard. Robb and Ron would also entice the neighbors to spin on the hurry gurdy until we were sick. The motion sickness bothered some of ud, but not Robb and Ron.
As we got older the ball games moved to the field near the American Legion and Deep Creek Elementary. Robb always had a smile and loved to horse around. 
We grew up and went our separate ways. I last saw Robb at my Dad's funeral nearly three years ago. Robb was kind enough to bring his Mom to the service. He looked well and had the same bright smile. 
I am so sorry to hear of his sickness and passing. My deepest sympathy to Robb's wife and family.

We learned through Robb's messages how to be strong when it would have been far easier to be weak; we saw in action his love for Jean, his family and for his loyal Robb followers; and, we were touched by his inspiring faith and uplifting humor in the face of adversity.  Today, I see clearly his pretend grumpy face that he would mischievously tease into a reassuring smile and infectious laugh; I feel his gentle advice that would set for a better course; and I KNOW without question that he immediately made an appointment with God to make sure everything will be alright for all those he cherished.  Once again, Robb has managed to give us comfort.  

At last, our dear friend we know you have found your well deserved comfort.

I have known Robb for nearly 35 years and have always been proud to call him a friend. We had many long conversations over the years, and I have fond memories of those as well as the time we personally spent together. The memory of Robb that will stay with me forever is after Robb was diagnosed with leukemia until his passing. His positive attitude and will to live has truly been an inspiration to me. In spite of all he was going through, he still asked and was concerned about how others were doing. It would have been easy for Robb to sulk or be depressed, but he met the challenges facing him head-on. That is a tribute to Robb, to his faith, and to his love for his family and friends. I loved Robb like a brother and will miss him, but I will forever carry his memory in my heart.
