Kathleen and Family: I was so sorry to hear of Michael‘a passing.  While we didn’t get to see each other as much as I would have liked I always felt Michael made me feel welcome whenever we were together. I only have  really good memories of Michael. He was a special guy who will be missed. RIP Michael. Dennis Fricke

Michael was more than just a neighbor, he was a friend and a part of my family. We spent countless hours over the last 13 years raising a glass (which frequently contained a margarita or a gin and tonic), sharing meals, exchanging stories, and generally celebrating life. 

Every time he saw me, he always asked how I was doing. But it wasn’t just the perfunctory question that one expects, he asked it with genuine caring and with an interest in my wellbeing. Then he asked about every member of my family - about my parents, my grandmother, my sister, and, of course, my kids who absolutely adored him. Michael had an impressive memory and kept up with all the goings on in my home and work life. 

Michael was generous with his time. He was a consistent support to me and to my family regardless of how busy he was. He drove me to the airport, checked on my house when I was out of town, crawled under my Christmas tree to water it every day for two weeks when I was unexpectedly in the hospital with a family member, made sure any contractors working on my house were doing an outstanding job, let me borrow his patio and pool furniture to host big parties, shared his lawn guy and pool guy with me, and, perhaps most importantly, let me steal ice from his freezer when I was running low and “needed” a margarita. 

I truly enjoyed spending time with Michael - both in Catonsville and at the beach. Touring homes in Bethany Beach during the annual Cottage Tours was insightful. We walked through dozens of homes over the years, which enabled me to view the interior design and architecture through his artistic lens and with the benefit of his commentary. He always had insightful comments on  finishing work, window placement, and other aesthetic details. 

After every interaction with Michael and his family, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. I was incredibly lucky to have him as part of my life for so many years. I will continue to raise a glass with you, Michael! ~Cheers~

I am sad to hear that we have lost Michael. I have many fond memories of time spent with Michael and Kathy while we were neighbors in Maryland. It was early in my professional career, and I turned to Michael for an authentic perspective on work-life balance, entrepreneurship, mobile app development, audio-video cable management, and…well…keeping up with yard work. No topic was out of bounds. As I reflect on our time together, I feel a blend of remorse for having lost touch, nostalgia for our time as neighbors, and gratitude for his positive influence. I hope that Kathy and Stephanie find peace and comfort, and know how much Michael shaped my memories of life on Rambling Drive.

Michael Kidd was one of my all time favorite people.  He always made me feel special with his larger than life greetings and genuine bear hugs.  The ultimate conversationalist, super engaging and hanging on to your every word… ready to shower you with wisdom or encouragement.  I’ll remember fondly the time and attention he gave to my children, getting to know them when we would visit, diving deep into storytelling… making them laugh.  Keeping them company so Kathy and I could girl talk.  

I was lucky to travel the world with Michael and Kathy.  First to Ecuador and the Galapagos, and then to Spain.  It was comforting (and entertaining) having Michael there, who would never shy away from troubleshooting a travel challenge, or providing comic relief.  I’ll miss his laugh… his “hey Tam!,“ and his profound love and affection for my dear friend Kathy.  

To Kathy, Stephanie, and all his family, please accept my most heartfelt condolences for this massive loss.  You will be in my prayers for peace and strength.  Love, Tammy, Bill, Sebastian, & Levi Bauer

Worked with Mike at the photography lab for many years. He was always kind to me, such a nice guy. I know he’ll be missed. 

Mike was a great friend and photo-tutor to me. We exchanged emails almost every day. He taught me many things about photography and was always happy to share his vast knowledge of all things photographic. he corrected, adjusted, and improved almost every photo I sent him

Michael's passing was a shock to us all. He will be sincerely missed as not only a neighbor but a SPECIAL friend.  Our texting on a daily basis had become part of our everyday life. We texted a lot about politics, but also of life in general.  Michael loved his Country, & like many of us was VERY concerned.  His last text to me was Thursday, & he said, " Tell Donna I said Hello, & will see you sometime in May. 
He said "Orange Crushes on the Front Porch. " & That sounds like a Country Song. We agree.  We miss you Michael, & you will forever be in our thoughts & prayers.
